Hi friend,
Welcome back to She Speaks Life. ✿
As Valentine’s weekend arrives, so many of us find ourselves feeling more than we expected.
A little hope.
A little ache.
A little longing.
A little gratitude.
Sometimes all at once.
This day carries its own tenderness, and its own weight.
The world tells us love must look a certain way… feel a certain way… arrive at the right time, in the right form, with the right story.
But Jesus offers something far different, far deeper, far steadier.
A love not shaped by romance alone, but by self-giving.
A love not measured by perfection, but by presence.
A love not tied to who chooses us, but to who first loved us.

Feature Story
The Love that Redefines Love
When Jesus spoke of love, He didn’t describe butterflies or grand gestures.
He described laying down His life.
Not because He had no other choice,
but because love moved Him toward us first.
The world teaches us to chase love that validates us.
Christ teaches us to receive love that forms us.
He loved with a tenderness that did not depend on being loved back.
He loved with a nearness that did not demand perfection.
He loved with a steadiness that did not fracture under pressure.
Christ’s love is not fragile.
It doesn’t rush.
It doesn’t manipulate.
It doesn’t fear being small or simple or quiet.
It is a love that holds.
A love that stays.
A love that gives.
A love that frees.
This is love, not as the world gives, but as heaven gives.
A love that dignifies every season of life:
singleness, longing, friendship, marriage, grief, healing, hope.
Jesus doesn’t romanticize love.
He redeems it.
A Reflection for your Heart this Weekend
You Are Loved in Ways That Do Not Depend on Circumstance
Wherever Valentine’s finds you overflowing, content, uncertain, lonely, hopeful or healing., Christ’s love meets you there with both tenderness and truth.
Not the kind of love that needs to be performed.
Not the kind that compares you to others.
Not the kind that demands you fit a storyline.
His love is the kind that sees you.
The kind that stays with you.
The kind that calls you worthy even when no one else says it.
The kind that whispers,
“You are mine, and I am with you,” in seasons where you feel most overlooked.
Your value is not heightened by being partnered,
nor diminished by being alone.
Your worth is not validated by being chosen by someone else,
it is secured by being chosen by Christ.
On a weekend that can amplify longing,
may this truth settle into your heart gently:
You are not waiting to be loved.
You are learning to recognize the love that has already found you.
“My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you.
Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.”
— John 15:12–13 (NIV)

A Final Note
Whatever this weekend brings, may you remember this:
Christ’s love is not a consolation prize.
It is the purest, truest, most faithful love you will ever know.
A love that steadies you when romance feels far.
A love that blesses you when relationships flourish.
A love that holds you when your heart aches with longing.
A love that finds you in ordinary days
and whispers strength into quiet nights.
You are loved with a love that does not waver.
A love that does not disappoint.
A love that does not withdraw or withhold.
You are deeply seen.
Deeply valued.
Deeply cherished by the One who gives love,
not as the world gives,
but as only Heaven can.
With grace,

P.S. Next week our next reflection returns to our series with Love in the Ordinary, the kind of love we live and choose daily, not just based on feeling.
